Auburn now has another candidate for the All-Name Team. Joko Willis is a physical presence who can play almost any spot besides the interior DL.
When I flipped on the film for Joko, I expected to see an Inside LB; What I saw was an ILB, OLB, Nickel, Edge Rusher.
That’s correct, Willis can play all of those positions. He often walks out on the slot and plays tight and physical man coverage. He also walks up to the end of the LOS at times and acts as an edge rusher. Great speed, great size, great quickness.
JW is possibly even more effective as a blitzer from the second level. He’s lightening quick and then becomes a heat seeking missile.
I’m most impressed with the overall athleticism. I believe honing his knowledge and talent into one position should be a smooth transition and he could see the field pretty early on in his career—even with a crowded LB room.
Another great surprise pick up for the Tigers.
